Does your health take a holiday?
It’s that time of year again. Christmas parties start, holiday treats are set out. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s gotten a little chilly outside. Our schedules are packed with parties, plays, hockey games and dance recitals. We have tons of gifts to buy. It’s a “perfect storm” when it comes neglecting ourselves. Many of you may have already uttered the dreaded words “I’ll wait until January” when it comes to eating right, exercising, and getting all your adjustments in. You want to take a break… the only problem is that heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and subluxation do not take holidays. Here’s what you need to do:
- Make all of your adjustments. Let’s be honest… it’s difficult to avoid losing sleep and eating garbage this time of year. Your body needs to be functioning at 110% to combat what we’re about to put ourselves through with regards to stress, diet, and lack of exercise. Chiropractic adjustments are the ONLY way to ensure optimal function. If you know you’re going to have to miss an adjustment, RESCHEDULE TO MAKE IT UP TODAY!
- Be sensible with your diet. Pick the healthiest food that you can, and eat in moderation. This is a great time of year for certain foods. Christmas oranges are amazing, and taste better than chocolate. Stick to the almonds at parties.
- Even though it’s cold, get your exercise in. You don’t have to go outside to burst train. Do 15 burpees as fast as you can, then rest 90 seconds. Do this five times, and you have a workout. It takes ten minutes, and you can do it in front of your television.
- Avoid stress. Shop online and early to avoid the rush at the mall. Don’t overspend, and pay cash for your gifts (don’t run up credit cart bills).
You’ve all worked so hard this past year to make huge strides towards the long, healthy life God planned for you. Don’t let this season be an excuse for taking six steps back. You’ll be kicking yourself on January 2nd if you do!
We are teaming with Winnipeg Harvest to help the community have a Merry Christmas. Please drop off your donation this week (Dec 6-11) in the office and let’s take care of our community with the bounty we’ve been so fortunate to receive.
