SWINE FLU: TIME TO PANIC?
SWINE FLU: TIME TO PANIC?
Judging by the stories in the news, it is time for all of us to lock ourselves in our houses, stock up on canned goods and bottled water, and hunker down while we wait for the deadly Swine Flu to pass us by, right? After looking into it, I don’t think that it’s time to reach for the panic button quite yet.
Here are some facts about the Swine Flu:
- It is common in pigs. There have only ever been 50 reported cases of transmission from pigs to humans.
- It is mild. Generally, symptoms are the same or milder than the human strain of the virus, and people recover on their own. Only one death in America has been confirmed, and although I don’t know the specifics of the case, I would almost bet the farm that the poor person was actually killed by the medical treatment they sought out rather than the Swine Flu itself (remember, our medical system kills 1.1 million+ people in North America EVREY YEAR).
- Only 55 cases have been confirmed in Canada. That’s out of 30 million people. 55 cases. That’s it.
So why the big kerfuffle? Ask the media. Anything that appears dangerous and has the potential for getting worse is a perfect match for the media outlets. Those two factors ensure that we glue ourselves to the TV to monitor every single development because we all tend to believe that it will be us that’s infected next, despite the overwhelming odds otherwise.
Normally at this point, I would offer advice on what to do to make sure you won’t get the Swine Flu. Things like taking extra vitamin c to boost immune function, get lots of sleep, handle your stress and most importantly, get adjusted. I won’t do that though. Why? Because my best advice to you is to turn off your TV, don’t pick up a newspaper, and opt out of the hype and paranoia. Pretend Swine Flu doesn’t exist, because it barely does.
Here’s where things get a little ironic. As I mentioned before, the North American medical system kills over 1.1 million people every single year. That’s over 3000 people every single day. Why is there no media coverage for that? In a world where civilization was outraged by the fact that 3000 people died in the 9/11 attacks, we see the same number of deaths every DAY from medicine and nobody says a word. Instead, we’re fixated on a virus that leads to a mild and generally self limiting sickness that has killed one person in America and Canada. For the record, that’s less than was killed by the Swine Flu vaccine introduced in 1976, the last time this virus popped up. Despite of that, watch out for the next generation Swine Flu vaccine coming to a doctor’s office near you. There is just too much panic and hype to pass up this opportunity to make billions of dollars on a worthless new vaccine program.
Instead of getting worked up about the Swine Flu, let’s get worked up about our ONE DAY MAXIMIZED LIVING MAKEOVER on MAY 23rd. This is where you learn how to become a person so healthy that not only can the Swine Flu not touch you, but neither can heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, obesity, depression or chronic pain. We are making this a NO CHARGE event, with the stipulation that you must bring one person that needs to hear the life transforming information (otherwise it’s $20). The seating is EXTREMELY limited – this will be a more intimate Makeover with more interaction and the opportunity to ask questions. Therefore sign up TODAY if you wish to attend!
